Toba, October 18th, 2013. JAPFA continued the JAPFA4Kids Nutrition Campaign inviting more than 1,700 students from 15 SDN of Kab. Simalungun. Dolok Pardamean, Kab. Simalungun. The event took place from October 17th-18th, 2013 under the theme “Healthy Indonesian Children and Nutritional Care”.

The effort of JAPFA to campaign the importance of nutrition begins with providing Little Doctor training. A total of 75 students from 15 elementary schools, received training about the Character of Little Doctor, Clean and Healthy Lifestyle, Nutrition, and First Aid on October 17th, 2013 held at SDN 095 172, district. Dolok Pardamean, Kab. Simalungun.

“Through the Little Doctor Training, students are trained to understand about healthy living and the importance of nutrition,” said R. Artsanti Alif, Head of Public Relations JAPFA. “Hopefully they will be the cadre of nutrition for their friends at school”.

Not just a little doctor training, efforts to form a clean and healthy culture in schools is also done by providing training 5S (Seiri / sort, Seiton / arrange, Seiso / clean, Seiketsu / solid, Shitsuke / habit) to teachers held at the same location on October 17th, 2013. A total of 140 teachers got a day training on school governance management adopted from Japan.

“5S Training will provide skills to teachers to well organize the school with a culture that supports a clean and healthy school,” said Artsanti.

Not only provide trainings to teachers and students, on the second day (Friday, 18/10) JAPFA provided free health checks to 1000 students from 9 elementary schools in the district. Dolok Pardamean. Along with the health check activities, each student also received a package of nutrition (meals and health habbit books).

“The purpose of giving nutrition packages, we would like to introduce that nutritious food does not have to be expensive,” Artsanti said. “Through Nutrition Campaign we want to encourage children to get use to eat nutritious foods that are already available around us”

JAPFA4Kids Nutrition Campaign activities have been carried out by JAPFA since 2008. Through these activities JAPFA has been able to reach a number of 380 schools, 73,335 students and 4,013 teachers from 61 districts throughout Indonesia.
